What is Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Who can benefit?

GENETICALLY LARGE LABIA

Some women just have naturally larger labia. Naturally large labia can impact your ability to maintain proper hygiene, and some women are more prone to vaginal infections due to their labial size.

ADDED LABIAL LENGTH AFTER CHILDBIRTH

You may find that the length of your labia becomes distended after childbirth. You may find that it impacts your comfort during intimacy. Improving the length and appearance of your labia can make you more confident.  

FULL PUBIC MOUND AFTER WEIGHT GAIN

After gaining weight, a prominent pubic bulge may prevent you from wearing tight-fitting clothing, including pants, shorts, and bathing suits. Snug clothing can cause irritation to your outer labia and may make you prone to vaginal infections. Reducing the size of the pubic mound can help you feel more comfortable in your clothes. 

Labiaplasty

It is common for women to have concerns about the size, shape or definition of their labia, the inner and outer folds that sit either side of the vagina. This may be the result of genetics, ageing, or most frequently, following childbirth. Labiaplasty is a quick and straightforward surgical procedure to reshape and resize the labia.

The whole procedure takes about 1 to 2 hours, and all patients are able to go home several hours later for their recovery.

Labiaplasty is surgery to reshape or reduce the size of the labia minora, the small lips of skin on either side of the vaginal opening. The unwanted tissue is cut away with a scalpel or laser before the loose edges are stitched back together with fine, dissolvable stitches. It can be done using either a general anaesthetic or a local anaesthetic with sedation.  

Clitoroplasty

Clitoroplasty is the removal and/or reshaping of the skin over the opening of the clitoris, called the clitoral hood. For some women, age or childbearing has caused the clitoral hood to become loose, which inhibits clitoral response during lovemaking. For other women, the clitoral hood has always been a bit too loose for maximal friction. For women in need of clitoroplasty due to aging, labiaplasty is also generally necessary. 

Mons Pubis Reduction

Aging and weight gain can cause the mons pubis to enlarge with time. Not only is this visible through tight clothing, such as workout wear or swimwear, if the mons extends over the labia it results in poor access for intimate relations. Simple removal of the extra skin and underlying fat easily restores a more youthful and aesthetically attractive area.  

Labia Majora Reshaping

With age, or due to childbearing, the volume of a woman’s labia majora decreases. For women who prefer a more full appearance of their labia majora, medical injection can bring about a temporarily more attractive contour. For more permanent results, however, the injection of fat obtained through liposuction offers a much more stable alternative. This procedure can be performed alone or with any other body sculpting procedure. However, fat must be obtained via liposuction.

Resuming Normal Activities After Surgery

Everyone heals at different rates and you are the best judge of when you are ready for certain activities, but the following are general guidelines:

  • Physical exercise program within 2 – 4 weeks
  • Intimate activity within 6 – 8 weeks
  • Visible signs of surgery fade within 3 weeks.
  • Back to work within a 1or 2 days

What To Expect the First 1-2 Days After Vaginal Rejuvenation

You may experience some numbness and temporary discomfort around the incisions. Any pain or discomfort you experience can be controlled with Tylenol or prescription medication. You will also experience swelling and some bruising. Your comfort level will improve rapidly after the first two days.
